Nominations open for women of outstanding achievement in science, engineering and technology
Do you know a female physicist who is an outstanding communicator or a brilliant innovator? The Institute of Physics is looking for female physicists to nominate for the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC) 2007 Women of Outstanding Achievement in SET photographic exhibition.
The exhibition aims to create an ongoing collection of inspirational images and to raise the profile of women in SET. The exhibition was launched on International Women’s day in 2006 with two women being chosen in each of these three categories:
- Scientific discovery and SET innovation
- Science Communication
- SET leadership
If you would like to be nominated or know someone who you think should be nominated, please follow the link on the right for further details and an application form. The closing date is 15 December 2006.
The competition is being organised by the UK resource centre for women in science, engineering and technology.
The 2006 winners were: Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Professor Kathy Sykes, Professor Wendy Hall, Dr Maggie Aderin (pictured), Rebecca George and Professor Julia Goodfellow.
